| SOURDOUGH CHOCOLATE CAKE ½ cup starter 1 cup milk 1 ½ cups flour Mix and let stand 2-3 hours in warm place until bubbly and the mixture has a clean sour milk odor. 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs ½ cup shortening 1 teaspoon cinnamon 3 squares melted chocolate or cocoa plus shortening, ½ teaspoon salt, 1 ½ teaspoon soda. Cream shortening, sugar, flavorings, salt and soda. Add starter. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each egg. Pour into a 9x13 inch greased cake pan. Bake 350 F. 25 minutes. |
