Baked Lasagna


BAKED LASAGNA

12 cooked, drained, lasagna noodles
1 pound ground beef
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 medium onion, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
1 cup cottage cheese
3-4 bay leaves
3 (3 oz.) cans tomato sauce
Salt and Pepper
1 sprig of parsley, chopped fine
2-3 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated

In a large skillet, brown meat, garlic and onion together. Strain off any grease. Add tomato sauce, bay leaves and spices. Simmer on low heat for 5 minutes then remove bay leaves and set mixture aside.

Measure olive oil in the bottom of a 9x12 inch glass casserole dish . Arrange a layer of 4 noodles and top with ½ of the meat sauce. Arrange a second layer of 4 noodles and top evenly with 1 cup mozzarella cheese and all of the cottage cheese. Add a third layer of 4 noodles and top with the second half of the meat sauce. Distribute remaining mozzarella cheese over the top of the meat sauce and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.

Bake 400 F for about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and sauce is hot and bubbly throughout.
