2 cups flour
1 cup salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup hot water, with 2 or 3 drops food coloring added
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
In a 2 quart bowl, sift flour, salt and cream of tarter together. Combine hot water and oil then stir all at once into flour mixture. Turn dough out onto a hard smooth surface and knead by drawing the edges of the dough toward the middle and pressing down with the palms of your hands until it is smooth and satiny. Store dough in a zip lock bag so it won’t dry out.
