SEASONED BREADING MIX FOR CHICKEN:

2 cups fine bread crumbs
½ cup flour
4 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon pepper
½ cup shortening

Sift dry ingredients together and then cut in shortening until fine crumbs. Store in a cool dry place. Makes 4 to 4 ½ cups.

SEASONING MIX FOR CHILI:
4 oz. chili powder
2 oz. seasoned salt
1 oz. cumin
8 teaspoons oregano
8 teaspoons onion powder
4 teaspoons garlic powder

Place spices in a zip lock baggie and seal. Shake to combine. Use 1 tablespoon per pound of hamburger as desired. Good for flavoring about 44 pounds of meat.

CREOLE SEASONING:

¼ cup ground red pepper
3 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon ground coriander
1 tablespoon black pepper
2 teaspoons ground cloves
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder

Place spices in a zip lock baggie and shake to combine. Store in a cool dry area. Sprinkle seasoning on buttered vegetables or add to mayonnaise for a zippy salad dressing, or sprinkle on steak meat before cooking.

SLOPPY JOE SEASONING MIX:

1 tablespoon dry minced onion
1 teaspoon green pepper flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon dry mustard
½ teaspoon minced garlic
¼ teaspoon celery seed
¼ teaspoon chili powder

Place spices in a zip lock baggie and shake to combine. Store in a cool dry area.

Sloppy Joes:
1 pound ground beef
2 ¾ tablespoons seasoning mix
1 (6 oz.) can of tomato paste
1 ¼ cup water

TACO SEASONING:

2 teaspoons dried minced onion
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon corn starch
½ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon red pepper
½ teaspoon garlic
½ teaspoon oregano

Place spices in a zip lock baggie and shake to combine. Store in a cool dry area. Use 2 tablespoons of mix to flavor three pounds of ground beef.
