BEEF TERIYAKI

2 pounds sirloin or round steak, 1 ½ to 2 inches thick
1 can condensed beef consume
1 clove garlic, crushed
½ cup soy sauce
1 onion, chopped ¼ inch pieces
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Slice meat diagonally across grain into strips about ¼ inch thick.

Prepare marinade by combining remaining ingredients. Pour marinade over the meat and refrigerate in a sealed container over night to tenderize.

Drain meat, reserving marinade for basting and place strips on the barbeque grill. As the meat cooks, baste with marinade. Turn strips over with a long fork and baste the other side. Grill for 5-10 minutes depending on the heat of your grill.

Simmer any remaining marinade to serve hot with the meat.
