BARBECUED BACON PATTIES

1 pound ground beef
1 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
½ cup ketchup
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1 small green pepper, diced ¼ inch pieces
1 small onion, chopped ¼ inch pieces
Juice of one lemon, seeds removed
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients together with a heavy spoon or fork until evenly distributed throughout the meat. Divide meat into six individual patties and wrap each patty with a strip of bacon around the edges. Secure bacon with a toothpick.

Barbecue approximately 5-10 minutes on each side. Makes 8 burgers.
