RED VELVET FROSTING

2 tablespoons corn starch
1 cup cool water
½ cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup white sugar

In a medium sized sauce pan, bring water and cornstarch to a boil on high heat, stirring constantly until thick. Important - Set aside and allow mixture to cool to room temperature then refrigerate to chill for about an hour before you add sugar mixture.

In a large bowl, cream butter, vanilla and sugar together. Beat in chilled cornstarch and water mixture. Add desired amount of red food coloring and beat until light and fluffy Frost cake and top with nuts.
