BAKED CUSTARD

Preheat oven to 350 F.
Recipe requires one oven-safe glass mixing bowl.

4 cups milk
1 cup white sugar
6 eggs, well beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
¼ teaspoon salt
A sprinkle of nutmeg

In a large glass bowl, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla together until smooth. Add milk and mix thoroughly. Set glass bowl in a shallow baking pan containing one or two inches of water.

Bake for 30-40 minutes or until custard shimmies. A knife inserted into the middle should come out clean. Sprinkle with nutmeg and chill before serving.
