GRANNY'S PICKLES

Peel, half, and core large mature, yellow-ripe cucumbers and slice into rings about 1/4 inch thick.

For one hour, soak 8 cups cucumber rings per 2 cups onions that are chopped or sliced in rings, as desired in 1/3 cup uniodized salt.

In a large stainless steel pan measure the following:
2 cups vinegar,
2 teaspoons celery or mustard seed.
3 cups sugar
2 teaspoons powdered tumeric

Bring mixture to a boil and pour over the cucumber and onion rings. Cook until vegetables become transparent. Pour into bottles and seal. Complete the seal by bottles in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

Great way to dispose of old tough cucumbers!
