CHILI SAUCE

12 medium sized ripe tomatoes
2 cups vinegar
1 onion
1 tablespoon salt
1 green pepper, chopped fine
2 teaspoons each of cloves, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg
2 cups vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 jalapeno pepper chopped fine

Peel and slice tomatoes. Place in kettle with other ingredients and cook slowly for 2 1\2 hours.

Pack into pints and place in a canning kettle. Fill kettle with hot water to the neck of the jars.

Bring water to a boil and continue boiling for 10 minutes to complete seal. Excellent to serve as relish for meats, hot dogs, and hamburgers.
