GRANOLA

1 (42 oz.) box quick-cooking rolled oats
1 cup soybean nuts
2 cups pecans, chopped
1 cup almonds, slivered
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup raisins, chopped fine
1 cup dates, chopped fine
1 (8 oz.) package shredded coconut, chopped fine
2 cups raw wheat germ

Syrup: 1 cup vegetable oil, 1 cup honey, 1 teaspoon salt.

In a large bowl, mix oats, the assortment of nuts, raisins, dates, coconut and wheat germ together and spread out evenly on a 12x18 inch cookie sheet. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine oil, honey and salt. Heat over low heat until honey becomes thin and easy to pour. Drizzle evenly over dry mix on cookie sheet.

Bake 300 F for 20 minutes, stirring every five minutes until lightly browned. Take cookie sheet out of the oven and keep stirring with a wooden spoon until the granola cools.
