STARLIGHT CAKE

Preheat oven to 350 F.
Recipe requires two greased and floured 9 inch round cake pans.

3 eggs
½ cup vegetable shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup milk
2 cups white flour
3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

In a large glass bowl, beat eggs, shortening, vanilla and sugar together then add milk and dry ingredients. Beat together until all the lumps are dissolved and batter is light and cream-colored.

Pour batter into cake pans. Bake 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown or top springs back when touched lightly in the center with your finger.
