RAW APPLE CAKE

Preheat oven to 350 F.
Recipe requires one greased and floured 9” square cake pan.

¼ cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white flour
2 cups peeled raw apples, chopped into ¼ inch pieces

Topping: Combine ½ cup brown sugar, packed with ½ cup chopped walnuts

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and eggs together until light and lemon colored. Add dry ingredients and mix until all lumps have disappeared. Fold apples into batter and pour into cake pan. Sprinkle top with brown sugar and walnuts.

Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve warm or cold with whipped cream.
