FRIENDSHIP CAKE (FRESH APPLE)

(One cup sourdough starter)

Day 1:
The day you receive the base, pour into large glass bowl,
cover and set on the counter. (Do not refrigerate).

Days 2,3,and 4:
Stir and return to the counter.
Day 5: Add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, and 1 cup milk.
Stir until smooth and return to the counter.

Days 6,7,8 and 9: Stir.
Day 10: Add same ingredients as day 5 and stir.
Take 3 cups of base and give 1 cup to each of two
friends with a copy of directions.

Be sure to keep 1 cup for yourself.

To remaining batter add:

2\3 cup oil
3 eggs
2 cupsflour
1 cup sugar
1\2 teaspoon salt
1 1\2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1\2 teaspoonssoda
2 teaspoons vanilla

Beat until smooth.

Fold in 1 cup diced apples, 1 cup chopped nuts.

Note:
You can add 1 cup mashed bananas or 1 large can
drained pineapple instead of apples.

Bake in greased tube pan at 350 F. for 1 hour.
