COFFEE CAKE

Preheat oven to 350 F.
Recipe requires one greased and floured 9 inch square cake pan.

BATTER:

l egg, beaten
½ cup white sugar
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
l cup white flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Combine ingredients and beat together until all lumps have disappeared. Pour batter into cake pan.

TOPPING:

½ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ cup butter

Mash ingredients together with a fork until butter is the size of grains of rice: Sprinkle topping over batter and then place cake in the oven. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot.
