| ROOT BEER - YEAST 2 cups sugar 2 tablespoons root beer extract 1 teaspoon yeast 1 gallon glass jug Warm water Measure ingredients into glass jug and fill with warm water. Tighten lid and shake to dissolve yeast and sugar. Loosen lid so air can escape and leave jar sitting in a warm place for about 24 hours. Tighten lid and store in the refrigerator for 24 hours then serve chilled. Note: Do not store longer that three days or the yeast may form alcohol in the root beer, thus the name ‘beer”. |
